Summary

Welcome to this week's episode of my devotional, Grace for a Mom's Heart! As we head into the New Year, I'm focusing more intentionally on reading the word out loud to you. Each week I will choose a specific topic and I read passages in God's Word that speak to that.  God's word is powerful and doesn't come back empty. I believe that as you listen, He will reveal HImself to you in a very real and powerful way! You may even want to play it with the kids around so they can absorb it as well!  (You can find my devotional, Grace for a Mom's Heart, on Amazon) Scriptures mentioned(I read from the NLT translation for these): Hebrews 4:12,13 Isaiah 55:10,11 Hebrews 4:12,13 2 Timothy 3:16,17 Isaiah 40:10-31 Psalm 46 Psalm 33 Isaiah 51:12-16 The following verses were read from the NIV translation: Isaiah 46:9-11  Psalm 115:3 Romans 9:20 Daniel 4:35

Hey, moms, welcome to Grace for a Mom's Heart. I'm Durenda Wilson, and Grace for a Mom's Heart is

0:08.0

an episode that I do a couple times a month, which is more like a devotional. And it's just an

0:14.5

encouragement for us to be growing in the grace and the knowledge of God and to get to know his word better, and specifically

0:22.6

how it applies to motherhood and to homeschooling.

0:27.8

Now, in the past, I've done more of a devotional type of episode and written the devotional

0:34.5

out word for word as well.

0:37.3

But I'm realizing as we head into the new year

0:39.7

that that particular method just isn't sustainable for me in this particular season, but I did not

0:46.7

want to quit doing some sort of devotional with you. So as I prayed about it, God brought to my

0:52.7

mind the idea of focusing more intentionally on the

0:56.7

word of God itself. This makes so much sense to me because honestly, it just really resonated

1:05.1

with all that I know to be true about the Word of God.

1:14.8

Now, did you know that God speaks himself about His Word?

1:22.5

He has something to say about His own Word, and he has many scriptures that address his perspective on His Word.

1:24.6

He has some very powerful things to say about it.

1:27.3

Hebrews 4, 12, and 13 says,

1:29.3

for the Word of God is alive and powerful, living and active is what that means. It is sharper

1:37.4

than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes the innermost thoughts and

1:48.0

desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his

1:56.7

eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. So what's that, what is that saying? That's saying

2:04.7

God's word is actually alive. It's the only living word in existence. It has the power to give us

2:14.6

discernment and illuminate things that would otherwise be hidden. God's
