The recall effort against California Governor Gavin Newsom passed a few major hurdles last week.

Supporters turned in more than enough signatures to qualify, and Newsom embarked on a media blitz, acknowledging

the likelihood of a recall election in the fall and vowing to win it.

We're taking it seriously. I have to do my job every single day, but I'm going to fight this

thing because I'm going to fight for California values and the things I hold dear.

Criticism of the governor revolves around economic hardship in the state after the long-term COVID-19 restrictions and the slow pace of school reopenings.
