Because the government's shut shut down the federal government has

shut down how is it affecting your life tell me on every level be specific what is it doing to

your day-to-day operation got up and did the same thing today i do every single other day oh so

really not at all that's right yeah and i think i think we said so at midnight midnight, the federal government quote, quote, quote, shut down. Now, of course, there are still many facets of the federal government that are operating exactly as they always have. The average. For example, Congress is still getting paid. That's right. I also saw that the, like, they're not even shutting the park service down on this one. No. And the Smithsonian is going to stay open for, I think it was until October 6th. And the postal service that's still running. They're still collecting student loans. Yeah, all the. Social security is still going out. You made a great point. You notice it's never the IRS that shuts down.

They're never, they're never, you know, we must stop collecting taxes. You can still pay them.

They still want your money. And, and the people who couldn't get it together enough to pass, you know, the CR, they're getting paid.

Somebody made a great point. This is the most effective the Congress will ever be right now,

not being in session, and remind everyone that the Republican Party is doing victory laps over

passing Biden-level spending. That's what just happened here. The Republicans are telling you

how great it is that they passed Biden-level spending. And the Democrats, it shows how crazy

they've become, they're now rejecting Biden-level spending. That's our government. The Republicans

on one side are thrilled about Biden-level spending. The Democrats now say Biden-level spending,

not enough. Gee, Casey, hard to believe our country's in the shape it's in. Okay, so the bill, it was passed by the House, and it fell short by five votes.

They had to reach that 60-vote threshold needed to advance in the Senate.

Three non-Republicans supported the bill, including John Federman.

Hi, the same thing.

I just voted for two CRs tonight.

And now the first one votes to affirm that we would like to extend the ACA tax credits because, of course, I voted for health care. The second vote is about making sure that we keep our government open. And I did vote for that because I think it's a sad event if we set our government down later today.

So for me, our nation doesn't believe that kinds of chaos.
