I, and I take pride in this, I am a former

New Yorker. I lived in that great city for several years before drifting down to Texas, debauchery,

and the podcasting that you now know and love. This week, that great city held its Democratic primary for mayor in what is usually the key election in that democratically controlled city, and voters selected Zohan Mamdani, a socialist, a democratic socialist, but a socialist, who, among other things, wants to raise the city's minimum wage to $30 an hour, establish universal

child care, free busing, and the thing I am most animated to talk about, government-owned grocery

stores. To explore what this means, and also to make fun of and nitpick most of those policies

to death, I have invited on two of my very good New Yorker friends to discuss.

First half a day's program, we're going to talk about the election.

Who voted for him?

What does this surprise victory mean?

Is this a portent of a socialist revolution in the United States?

Is it just that Cuomo sucked?

We will discuss all of that.

Second half, we will dive into the policies.

Free busing, legalized prostitution, rent control, all that good stuff.
