Summary

We are very excited to have Governor J.B. Pritzker (D. IL) on the Find Out Podcast. Governor Pritzker has long been one of Trump's loudest critics, fighting him every step of the way. Governor Pritzker is the first Democratic Governor, and potential 2028 presidential candidate, to call for invoking the 25th Amendment after Trump threatened to end Iran's whole civilization if they didn't meet his deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Despite reaching a two week ceasefire, Governor Pritzker also points out that Trump didn't really secure much of a deal with Iran after all his threats. In fact, Governor Pritzker points out that Mr. Art Of The Deal ended up with another TACO deal. It's very clear that something is mentally wrong with Trump, especially after this whole ordeal, and now is the perfect time to invoke the 25th Amendment.Trump's illegal war with Iran wasn't the only thing on our minds when we interviewed the Governor. Pritzker opens up about how Trump still owes every American family $1,700 after the Supreme Court ruled his tariffs were illegal. The Governor also touches upon his ideas for Democrats to address affordability concerns including homeownership, raising wages and making it easier to join or start a union.  Learn more about your ad choices. Hey, everybody. Welcome back to the Find Out podcast. We've got a big show for you today. We have one of America's best governors with us, the governor of Illinois. J.B. Pritzker is with us. Governor, how are you today?

0:20.2

I'm doing great, Tim. How about you guys? We are, we are great now that we know that there was no complete wiping a whole group of people off the planet last night. So obviously, like, we're recording this on Wednesday. So Trump made this, quote, unquote, deal last night. And obviously, it's the thing that everybody's talking about. We just want to get your initial reactions on. What did we actually get? Because it doesn't look like very much to us.

0:41.8

It actually doesn't look like a deal. It looks like, you know, the people have talked about

0:47.6

the fact that gas prices and oil prices should be much higher than they are right now. And one of the reasons is

0:54.9

the traders, they call it the taco trade. You know, the Trump always chickens out. Right.

1:00.3

Because they know that at some point, the direction of the stock market going down, the direction

1:06.3

of oil going up, cost of everything going up as a result of Trump's war of choice will ultimately

1:13.2

lead him to back out. The problem, of course, is you can't easily back out of a war in the

1:18.7

Middle East. Presidents, many presidents for 50 years have known this, but not Donald Trump.

1:24.8

He got us into this thing and you can't just sort of like slowly back out

1:28.6

of the saloon and hope that, you know, everything will go back to normal. That's not what's going to

1:33.0

happen. So we'll see. I mean, I'm glad that that oil prices are coming down today and that the

1:38.9

stock market is doing better today. But I just don't think that this is going to be as easy as Donald Trump would like it to be.

1:47.0

Yeah, you know, if only there was, Governor, if only there was some sort of deal that was in place at

1:51.6

one point to keep Iran in check, you know, it would have been all right. But that guy who tore it up

1:57.0

is obviously Donald Trump. And now all we have seen is prices go through the roof. And I know,

2:01.6

Governor, and I'm sure you're seeing this everywhere in Illinois, you know, all this guy that has done

2:06.1

has is raised prices on the American public since day one, which he said on day one,

2:11.1

he would lower costs, right? Exactly. And by the way, whatever you may think about Joe Biden, costs were coming way down under Joe Biden in the last year. But, you know, he lost the election. Donald Trump said he was going to lower, he was going to eliminate inflation day one. And you've seen exactly the opposite. Everything. Tariffs, right? The cost of oil, gas prices. Everything,

2:36.5

everything has gone up. And you go to the grocery store, beer costs more, you know,

2:41.2

tomatoes, lettuce, everything at the grocery store costs more. Donald Trump has done so much

2:46.7

damage to this economy. And now oil prices, which, you know, normalized for everybody,
