  • Can you tell us about your ministry changing and what that feels like right now?
  • What inspired the new book, “Gospel Mom”?
  • Why do you think it’s hard for parents to live like we believe we are free from guilt and fear and ready to battle with sin, instead of other parents?
  • What are the spiritual disciplines that God has used to bless you as a mom?
  • Can you explain how friendship can be a spiritual blessing and help us understand why so many moms feel so alone?
  • Can you share about how Christian parents can “troubleshoot their conscience” as they’re trying to make wise decisions for their families?
  • How did you learn to not drive yourself crazy considering your own limits while making the most of your time?
Guest Bio:Emily Jensen and Laura Wifler are the co-founders of the Risen Motherhood ministry and co-hosts of the chart-topping podcast. They are also in the trenches of motherhood, right alongside their readers. With a combination of accessibility, relatability, and solid biblical knowledge, Emily and Laura have a knack for simplifying complex scriptural truths, helping you relate and apply them to everyday life. God has consistently and powerfully used the voices of these two moms to captivate women around the world with the gospel. As sisters-in-law, Emily and Laura both live in central Iowa with their families.Resources Mentioned in this Episode: Let this Mother’s Day be a reminder that she deserves care, too. Unfortunately, Cassie could not be with us today. She's out. She'll be back

0:21.2

again next week, we hope. Prayers for Cassie. But Chelsea, as we jump into this great conversation, would you start with us? When did you feel like the gospel, like, clicked in for you? Or do you remember either a conversation or maybe it was an experience at a church where like, hey, the gospel really clicks for me. I get it. I always feel like this would be a good question for me to ask the Lord in heaven to be like,

0:40.3

when did I really have saving faith? Like if it was always his intent to save me, great.

0:46.1

But like when did I actually have saving faith? That is actually very confusing to me.

0:52.2

Because there were things that were said to me as a young child that I'm like, well, I believe that. But I don't think I had a good understanding of it. But I guess, I don't know, there's some time in college where I felt like I understood it and I've never looked back. So somewhere in there. Yeah, that's good. Because some of it, sometimes the gospel coming to take root is a process too. like even though I've clicked into maybe saving faith, maybe there's an area of my life where the gospel is still taking root or almost, almost like our political climate. Like is there an issue specific area where the gospel hasn't taken root yet? Is there an idol that I'm still clinging to or an issue that I that I'm trying to see the gospel take over. And today, actually, we're

1:27.5

talking about something similar to that. Like, how does the gospel impact our parenting? And in order to talk about that, Chelsea, we have with us some incredible guests today. I don't know if you know this. Do you do know? Oh, yeah, you're looking right at them. And you're prepared. Guys, Laura Whiffler and Emily Jensen from Risen Motherhood are with us on family discipleship today.

1:45.0

How you doing, ladies?

1:46.6

1:47.6

We're so happy to be here. We're excited to talk about this. So this will be fun. Yeah, thanks for having us. What a delight, you guys. Well, we love y'all. We love your ministry. We have huge, huge problems with Risen Motherhood right now that we're going to tackle today on today's episode, like some real confrontation. So this is going to be good. So before we start talking about your newest book and my big qualms, before we get into that, before I like just go on the attack. For anybody who doesn't know Laura Wifler, for anybody doesn't know Emily Jensen, for anybody doesn't know Risen Motherhood, can you tell us a little bit about maybe your family, your ministry, what you guys are hoping to accomplish for the Lord in your lifetime? I'm Laura Wifler for everyone to recognize my voice out there. And I am a co-founder of Risen Motherhood with Emily Jensen, my sister-in-law also, and we co-founded that, gracious, about eight,

2:36.7

nine years ago, something like that. And it has been just an incredible ride. Rizant

2:41.0

motherhood is really just designed to help moms connect their faith to their motherhood.

2:44.4

So that's our sole mission over there at the nonprofit. And outside of that, I have the privilege

2:49.4

of being an author. I have three incredible

2:52.4

children. I live in Central Iowa with my husband as well. Emily lives about a mile from me,

2:58.2

which is so great. Hasn't always been that way, but we get to work together now in person, which we

3:03.3

love. So that's kind of a really great nutshell about Laura Wiffler there. Yeah. The fun thing about

3:09.6

our bios is that I just like have the spend diagram that overlaps with Laura so much that I'm

3:14.8

going to ditto most of that. So Emily Jones here. Different, different husbands, I think, right?

3:20.1
