So in this class, as you know, we studied the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, this book,

which is actually a translation of the Bengali Sri Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrata.

It's basically a record of the conversations of Sri Ramakrishna with devotees,

taken down based on notes which M, Master Mahasha, Mahindranath Gupta, had taken down based on notes which M Master Maharsha and Mahindranath Gupta had taken down during the

conversations and later recreated this book from those notes.

So we are now in the middle of a long discussion that Sri Ramakrishna had with Brahmo devotees. The date is 28 October

1882 and the page in my book, the page is 146. Page 146. And the discussion, Sri Ramak Krishna is saying that how, you know, devotees are of different kinds.

He gave the example of how Chaitanya and Nityananda, they attracted devotees towards God in different ways.

Now he's talking about different kinds of devotees, the natures.

So page 146 in between.

As worldly people are endowed with Satwa Rajas and Tamas,

so also is Bhakti characterized by the three gunas.

So this is a Vedantic framework, very common to, from the Upanishads itself, but primarily

you will see a lot of it in Sankhya.

From an Vedantic perspective, ultimate reality is existence consciousness place, sat,

chit, ananda. It is enormous variety in this universe of people, of kinds of people, of different kinds of creatures, of the physical universe.

And what is the material which constitutes this variety?

So where that answers it as, says it's Maya or Prakriti.

Maya, Prakriti means literally means nature.

But what's this nature, this Maya made of?

What's it made of?
