I was just reading in this nice collection of reminiscences of senior monks by Swami Chetrananandhi.

So far I think it's only available in Bengali but they're working on an English translation.

I forgot one of the senior monks, I think is Swami Saradesh Hanandhii probably, in the reminiscence about Mahatma Gandhi, which I did not know earlier.

At one time, this monk, very senior monk of our order, he was working in a relief camp for I think there was some famine relief or something like that.

And Mahatma Gandhi also was in that area.

And the Swami went to meet Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi asked him to read from the Gospel of Sri Ram Krishna.

And every day, for the next few days, he said, you come at this time and you read to me from the Gospel of Sri Ram Krishna.

One day he went and Mahatma Gandhi's secretary told him that today, He said, you come at this time and you read to me from the Gospel of Sri Ram Krishna.

One day he went and Mahatma Gandhi's secretary told him that today Gandhi is busy and some

other engagement is there, has an important engagement.

So the Swami returned without reading the Gospel of Sri Ram Krishna.

And the next day when he went, Mahatma Gandhi asked him, Swami did not come yesterday.

So he said, yes, I did come, but your secretary said you had an important meeting or important work.

And Mahatma Gandhi said that is this not important work?

This reading the Gospel of Sri Ram Krishna.

I had to find out exactly who the Swami was.

And another story which, especially the Indians here,

will relate to, is Netaji Subhasa Bose.

So this is by one Swami Bhaspharaananda in the 1940s, 50s.

He was in our Ramakrishna Mission Ashram in Singapore.

When the Japanese occupied Singapore, so this Swami was there.

And Netaji Subhaz Bosospos was he came to Singapore and
