Here we are again, another government funding crisis, another last-minute scrabble,

and another opportunity for Republicans to hold the country hostage, which is something they're

expert at, in exchange for massive spending cuts that disproportionately harm working class

Americans and disproportionately benefit the 0.01% of us.

I shouldn't say of us. Those guys. The House passes six-month stopgap funding bill on Tuesday, but it's now up to the Senate to decide whether to go

along with it or push for something less devastating, which is to say it's up to Senate Democrats

to push for something less devastating because almost every single Republican is completely

on board with this ridiculous and harmful bill. Democrats are trying to hold out for a 30-day extension

in order to buy more time for negotiations, which surpasses my understanding. But the reality is

that they're stuck between

two terrible choices, a government shutdown or caving into the Trump regime's agenda. Watch this.

Republicans chose a partisan path drafting their continuing resolution without any input, any input from congressional Democrats.

Because of that, Republicans do not have the votes in the Senate to invoke cloture on the House CR.

Our caucus is unified on a clean April 11th CR that will keep the government open and give Congress

time to negotiate bipartisan legislation that can pass. We should vote on that. I hope,

I hope our Republican colleagues will join us to avoid a shutdown on Friday.

Yeah, sure they will. Listen, what I just said up there is a false choice that Democrats

seem to have locked themselves into. They're not between the scylla of a government shutdown

and the cribbedos of caving into the Trump regime's agenda. No, no. There's another third choice,

and it is this. Let them, let Republicans take responsibility for their bill. As Schumer pointed

out, there were no negotiations, there were no concessions to Democrats, because why? Republicans
