A GOP-led House Oversight Subcommittee has voted to subpoena the Justice Department for files related to Jeffrey Epstein. Democratic Representative Summerlee forced the vote, with the motion passing 8 to 2,

with three of the panel's Republicans joining the Democrats.

The subcommittee's chairman, Clay Higgins, tells CNN he doesn't know when the subpoenas

will be issued.

But I assure you that we'll be working together in a bipartisan manner to make certain

that every word is perfect and reflective of what our agreements were today.

It comes just a day after sources told CNN,

Attorney General Pam Bondi briefed Trump back in May that his name appeared in the files reviewed by the department related to the case.

That contradicts Trump's recent denials he was told his name was in the documents.

But the context of Trump's name in the file isn't clear.

A possible standoff is brewing over who will be the U.S. attorney for New Jersey.

It's a bit complicated, but basically, Desiree Lee Grace was chosen this week by federal judges

in the state to replace Trump ally Alina Haber when her interim appointment expires on Friday.

But on Tuesday, the Justice Department quickly fired Grace from the new role, with Bondi posting on X that the judge's refusal to allow Haber to continue a role defied President Trump's Article

2 powers. It's unclear if Grace's removal is enforceable, or whether the district court judges

will challenge the move.
