So last night's state of the union, well, it went pretty much exactly as I predicted.

Trump, well, he delivered a speech that was built on divisive rhetoric that literally sent

Republicans to their feet, as I talk about in my substack, applause and ashes, literally as if they

were propelled out of their seat right to their feet while the Democrats sat stoic or heckling.

It was truly less about unity and more about drawing battle lines with Trump ticking through the

issues that he knows. He knows for a fact is going to dominate the runups to the midterm.

Now the GOP, they know what's coming next and just how much is on the line.

Maga Mike, he acknowledged that if Democrats win in the midterms, which they are expected to by a large margin at this moment, Trump's power is in jeopardy. Play the clip. He needs all four years,

not just two, to fix the mess. And that's what we need. If we lost the midterms, heaven forbid,

if we lost the majority in the House, it would be the end of the Trump presidency in a real

effect. So we've got to keep this going. And I think we're excited to put

our candidates on the field to explain all this for the people. Look, as I write in my substack,

applause and ashes, last night's state of the union, it was not a speech. It was a rossack test.

I mean, if you were wearing a red tie and sitting on the right side of the aisle,

it was a triumphant chest-thumping affirmation that America

is roaring back under President Trump. But if you were seated on the left or one of the

nearly 50 Democrats that boycott it all together that were outside with Midas touch, it was legitimately

a five-alarm fire with sirens blaring and the Constitution smoldering.

Senator Warnock, well, he had the same opinion from the Democratic side.
