Google announcing a rollout of AI powered search results across the country this week

along with a slew of other products including an AI assistant and new AI models.

Deerta Bosa spoke exclusively to Google CEO,

Sundar Pichai, on the news.

Dee, it was a wide-ranging, really fascinating interview

of this specific angle.

You know, what did he have to say? You know there was a lot of

advancements that we saw and really you know the AI race has been neck and neck and

the big question was whether Google would really fully embrace generative

AI in its core business search. It took its time but now it's doing exactly

that overhauling the 10 blue links that we have known and been using for decades.

So I asked CEO Senator Pichai what that means for the business model

and for advertisers who pay to show up at the top of the page

and now might be pushed lower to make way for Gen AI answers.

You know, a great thing is users still value commercial information.

Our ads work based on intent and quality and relevant at the right time.

We've been able to test that in the context of AI overviews and it's working well as we expected it to.

So I think it will be a smooth you know, smooth transition and that's what we are seeing.

Testing in beta mode though that is different than rolling it out to America and then a billion users, which is now what Google is doing.

And while Pachai said that in testing AI overviews has led to more searches, he wouldn't

say whether it's led to more clicks and those are the

things that are monetized so it'll be interesting to see how this plays out for
