They discuss economic signals like Goodwill's booming $7 billion revenue in 2025 (up 7% YoY) as shoppers stretch dollars, free shipping supplies hacks (Poshmark Ground Advantage boxes), negotiation tactics for consignment deals, and mindset shifts around taxes and profitable flips. Random stories cover owing taxes after a strong year, the viral Costco x Nike SB Dunk Low "Grey Fog" drop (limited in-store release for ~$135, now reselling higher), KFC's sold-out "Bowl-O-Tie" bolo ties, and hype vs. reality in limited drops. Hustles of the Week highlight massive collections buys, signed D&D books, rare NES games, and helpful low-margin flips.00:00 - Intro and Episode Format00:14 - Back-to-Back Updates Explained01:16 - Orlando's Update: Discipline, Listing Habits, Sourcing Choices05:37 - Negotiation Realities and Consignment Stories07:05 - QR Code Idea for Sellers, eBay Fees Breakdown12:01 - Free Shipping Supplies Hacks (Poshmark, USPS, UPS)16:36 - Mike's Update: Snow/Ice Storm Shipping Delays, Goodwill Struggles22:14 - Goodwill/Thrift Economy Boom Discussion27:24 - My Reseller Genie Promo and Tax Prep29:35 - Random Stories: Taxes After Strong Year, Costco Nike Drop33:33 - KFC Bowl-O-Tie and Limited Drop Hype46:01 - Hustles of the Week: D&D Signed Book, Massive Video Game Haul, Camera Lenses, Travis Scott Hoodie57:45 - Looking Forward: Garage Sales, Estate Sales, Prioritizing In-Person Sourcing58:49 - Closing Thoughts on Reselling Opportunities

Welcome to Peer Hustle Podcast. I'm Mike.

And this is Orlando and we're on episode 485.

0:11.9

And this is another update episode.

0:14.7

Back to back update episodes. Can you believe it?

0:18.0

So if you're new to the podcast, you're just not quite sure how we do our normal releases. We tend to switch off. One week, we do an update episode. And those are the episodes where we get to talk about what's going on in our life reselling-wise, what we've been up to, what's been selling, what's been not selling, any crazy reselling stories that we have. We get to go through normally our spicy bolos.

0:40.2

This time we're going to be sticking with the hustles of the week.

0:43.2

And then also what's going on in the reselling world?

0:45.4

You know, what's the news?

0:47.2

What's word on the street?

0:49.3

We want to keep you informed as our listeners.

0:51.4

And then the following week is the themed episodes of something a little bit more focused on maybe shipping or taxes or something a little bit more focused in. But we're

0:59.2

doing back-to-back update episodes this time around. So and honestly, almost everybody says

1:04.1

the updates are their favorites. I think there are favorites too. It just, you know, also takes

1:08.8

a little bit more for us to prepare them sometimes. So, but we're excited to talk about what's been going on. So, Orlando, how are you doing? Yeah. Well, I just wanted to keep it real. It was one of those things where I was like, hey, we could do a theme episode, but, you know, it's just kind of nice just to just chat, right? We've had a couple episodes where we just talked about how things are going, not just our own life, but in the reselling space. And things are, you know, they're going well. It's interesting. I noticed the shift. Like I had been talking big like two weeks ago or three weeks ago. Like, yeah, I'm a list every day. I'm a ship out every day, right? I'm going to keep building. But it was easy. It was easy when I didn't have to go in and work at the school because we're on Christmas break. And then Christmas break ended and the reality hit again, right? The reality. That's when that's when the discipline has to take over, right? Because you have the motivation to list and to do, but that's when the discipline aspect comes in where you don't want to, you don't have necessarily the time to and you have to make it priority. I know, and I'm trying to figure it out. Like, you know, we read Atomic Habits, how if you throw in a new thing in the middle of other habits and you just work it in it becomes part of what you do

2:18.4

right it's kind of like yeah so like brush your teeth and every time you brush your teeth i don't

2:22.2

know you do body squats like you then over time like that just becomes like hey when i'm brushing my

2:26.9

teeth i'm getting a workout in uh or reading a book or whatever like like you add a habit to something

2:32.6

uh and so yeah i mean that's a good point like especially when it comes to things like if if you've got a habit to something. And so yeah, I mean, that's a good point. Like,

2:34.8

especially when it comes to things like if, if you've got a nine to five, a normal nine to five, and a lot of our listeners do, or you're even a full-time reseller, but you want to scale or something like that is figure out what you're already doing. Maybe it's, hey, every night I watch, you know, an episode of a TV show okay well maybe when you're watching the episode that's when

2:52.1

you list or maybe that's when you're you're you know, an episode of a TV show. Okay, well, maybe when you're watching

2:51.3

the episode, that's when you list. Or maybe that's when you're, you know, that kind of thing. You just add to something you're already doing. And that's a hard thing. That's, that's the thing right now that I'm trying to figure out when that time's going to be. Because my schedule is pretty tight. You i i i hate saying this stuff because but i do

3:09.3

get up every morning for the gym and i get up super early but that's like become part of my life
