A man who now has his own chapter in the book of the Dappleverse, even though he says he is not at all a part of it.

Blind, Mike, America.

It's with a heavy heart that I join you today.

As we lay rest, a great man,

an American hero in many ways,

and certainly an icon.

You probably know him best as stuttering John Melendon.

John lived this earth, frankly.

Well... John lived this earth, frankly. Well, at an age we're all amazed he got to, given a lot of his habits.

You folks may know him as a buffoon, a drunk, and an idiot.

But I know him for so much more.

I'll tell you where I first encountered John, and you guys probably aren't aware of this,

because it's something he so rarely mentions.

And that's that he works for the Howard Stern show in the 1990s.

It's also possible, although he had less impact there than intern Ross and one Hugh Grant appearance.

But he was a member of the Tonight Show for 13 years.
