0:57.6 | the day that precedes Easter Sunday in the Christian calendar. It was on |
1:02.6 | Friday that Jesus died on the cross in our place for our sins that was |
1:07.5 | anticipating his resurrection victory coming up the following Sunday. Now just |
1:12.7 | think of it for a moment. Think of it from God's perspective. God made the world |
1:17.2 | perfect. When God was done, He said everyone and everything was very good. |
1:22.5 | There was no sickness. There was no sin and there was no suffering. When God's |
1:27.8 | work was completed, everything was perfect and everyone was happy. And then we |
1:33.4 | humanity chose to sin, to rebel, to defy God. The result is that we literally |
1:40.7 | unleashed hell on earth through Satan, demons and all that is opposed to God. |
1:46.2 | Now God in that moment had this extraordinary choice. That would be that he would |
1:51.6 | either remove himself from it and just leave us and our fallen, broken, dying |
