Amen and amen. Good morning and welcome. You can be seated, by the way. Not for long.

Those of you online that are joining us, we just want to welcome you as well.

Real quick for those of you here, before we get started, just want to, by way of a reminder,

let you know that this Tuesday, 7 p.m. is our prayer meeting.

Really hope you're able to come and join with us and pray with us here in the sanctuary,

beginning at 7 p.m. All right. So on Sunday morning's second service,

we're making our way verse by verse through the Bible. We're currently in 1 John. Today, Lord willing,

we're going to complete the first chapter of 1 John. And our text will be verses 8 through 10 of chapter 1.

I'll invite you at this time if you're not already there to turn there. And then if you're able, where you're

seated is fine, but if you're able, you can stand, follow along for the reading of God's

word. The Apostle John, by the Holy Spirit, continues writing and says, if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves.

And the truth is not in us.

And verse nine, a well-known verse, I love this verse,

if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us

our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Verse 10, if we claim we have not sinned, this is not a redundant, repetitive with verse 8.

This is different, as we're going to see.

If we claim we have not sin, verse 8 was if we claim to be without

sin. No, this time he says, verse 10, if we claim we have not sinned. Watch this. We make him out to be a liar

and his word has no place in our lives.
