And let's all go to Romans, the first chapter, and Luke, chapter 4.

romans one fifteen he says so as much as in me is everything that's in me i am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

I'm ready to preach what?

The gospel.

What is the gospel?

The gospel literally means good report, good message, good news, good message about what?

It's the good report, the good message about how God has saved us through Jesus.

We have been redeemed and he has done everything for us. He went to the cross.

He gave himself spirit, soul, and body. He redeemed us, spirit, soul, and body. He's blessed

us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places and given us everything it pertains

unto life and godliness. It's the best news you ever heard. Right? You'll never hear

any better news than this. But notice he goes on to say verse 16, he says, for I am not ashamed

of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God and the salvation to

everyone that believes to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

Now, as we've said previously, he wouldn't say I'm not ashamed unless there had been temptation to be ashamed or pressure of some type to be ashamed of the gospel.

And you can tell by the Spirit of God he's resisting that pressure or that temptation.

And he's saying, I am not.
