And let's go to two openings.

Let's go to Romans, the first chapter, and then also Luke, the fourth chapter, Romans 1 and Luke 4.

For some weeks now, we've been on a series we're calling good news for the poor.

Is there good news for the poor, to the poor?

Well, let's read in Romans the first chapter and the 15th verse, Romans 115.

He said, for as much as in me is, I am ready to preach.

I felt like that before.

I am ready to preach the gospel.

Not just anything, but to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

Now, the gospel, that word gospel means, good tidings, good message.

A lot of times you'll hear good news.

The scripture actually says this, good tidings of good things.

So it's the good message about good things. And it's not just a good

message. It's the gospel of Jesus, the Christ. So it's the good news about the good things that

the Christ, the master, has done for me, for you, for us all.

And it is the best news you ever heard.

Now the next verse, he says this, verse 16, for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is it the gospel is

the power of God said out loud the gospel is the power of God now it doesn't just talk about the power of God. Now, it doesn't just talk about the power of God.

It is the power of God that gets you to salvation, unto salvation.
