Hello and welcome back to the practicing human podcast I'm your host Corey Miskara and I am recording this session from a sketchy airb&B in New York City.

So if you hear an echoy kind of sound that sounds like I'm in an

echoy room it's because I am in a large echoy room with very high ceilings and off white walls and no decorations and a sleeping

bag on the floor that's not mine yeah it's a strange place, but I'm alive, I'm here.

And if you also hear a lot of background noise, that is the melodic sounds of Manhattan

streets early in the morning.

So you can let that soothe your nervous system.

It might be a cool way for us to settle in together

before I go into a lot of talking. And I have been making the argument that

mindfulness, presence, meditation, this quality of attuned

focus, awareness is foundational to living a good life,

to living our best life.
