So, getting our goals from a boss, before we ask them directly, point blank,

it's smart for us to work our network, right? Talk to our peers about what they've been working on for our boss.

It's potential that our beers have worked there longer, and have gotten previous goals from that boss, maybe a different boss.

Sometimes they have, usually they haven't, but there's no sense wasting our boss's time.

If they've shared their goals with other people in the organization, whether that be our peers, someone else on the team.

And if no one has them, you might have to ask directly, and it's going to sound simplistic, but ask them.
