Hello, first time on the podcast. Glad to be on here. Welcome, John. We're joined by Ian Helm. Tournament. Is it tournament director? That is correct. That's a big title. Yeah, it depends on you ask. That's fair. But we're excited to learn more about the tournament today.

I think us with Go Good Good, like obviously we know that this is happening, but I don't think anyone knows kind of the nitty gritty of behind the scenes what it's all going to take to actually pull this thing off. Yeah, no, we've had our hands full. You know, we've been at it for a couple months now, and every day, taking a day by day, and more and more we're figuring out.

But yeah, it's going to be a great event in November. We're super excited. Yeah, absolutely. Well, I guess first off, what really is the good championship going to be? So it's November, mid-November? Yep, November 9 through 15. Yeah. Started Monday through Sunday. It's a FedEx Cup fall series event.

So PGA Tour event, fall series.

So 120 player field, traditional stroke play, 120 players, Thursday, Friday with a cut for what's going to be an exciting finish on the weekend.

Absolutely.

So it's been, it's been, what, three years since Austin has had a PGA tour event. Yeah, that was the WGC. It was, yeah. Um, what is going to be different? Because that was a match play event. And I honestly don't know. Is that just, is there no longer a match play event on the schedule? Is that? There isn't. No, it's been a topic of discussion, actually. So it'd be

interesting to see what the tour does. It's out of our hands. Yeah. You know, if they look to add

something back. But yeah, this will be a little bit different, not being a match style of events. So previously when the tour was in town, it was a WGC, which doesn't exist anymore. But it was top 64 players in the world format it got a little light on the weekend I mean it was a

star started event but yeah with match play obviously they trickled down only you know

tour event back in town yeah but I think it'll be a nice kind of break with a stroke

play event come in and yeah provide that traditional feel and format. Go ahead, Johnny.

I mean, we're out here for the first kind of promotion for the event in November,

but talking to people here, they're excited that this event's coming to Austin.

Like they're saying it's hype.

It has been three years since the last event, and everyone out here that I talked to is pretty excited.

Yeah, no, that's probably the common theme of everybody we've been speaking with here locally. You know, Austin, it's a great town, great community that supports all sorts of events that are here in Austin outside of golf. But the one thing we've seen, I think, even back when matchplay was here in town, you know, the event, the town, they're not afraid to support any event, especially a PJ tour event. So there's a lot of other things going on throughout the year, but Austin always shows out and supports. Yeah. Well, we noticed that yesterday. So we're actually here, Butler Pitchaput for, I guess, promoting the tournament. And yesterday we had 400 people out here. It's crazy. It was ridiculous. It was me, John and Ashton. We each took a group and played three holes for the chance for them to win tickets and they were the people on a hole 50 people. So it was close to the pin captured the flag. So whoever out those 50 people was closest earned a ticket to the event, which is cool because actually as of now guys are listening to this, the tickets are live for purchase.
