Cam York closes in on his season debut. Bernie Perron honored in the Flyers' new player of the game

tradition and some updates on the slow start from Maffa Mishkoff. I'm Charlie O'Connor from

PHLY Flyers and PHLY Sports and these are your Flyers post-practice notes. So we'll start with

Cam York who has yet to make his season debut. He's missed the first three games with injury, but it does look like he is on the road to making his season debut very soon.

Now, York was on the ice for morning skate on Monday before the game against the Florida Panthers, but that was a morning skate, not a full practice.

Today, he was on the ice for the first time with his teammates for a full

practice, and he wasn't wearing a non-contact jersey. He was participating in full,

looked like he wasn't sitting out any of the drills. He was a full participant, and he looked

pretty good. After practice, he mentioned to the athletics Kevin Kurz that there was a good chance

that he would be ready to go Thursday against the Winnipeg Jets.

So looks like Cam York may only miss the first three games of the year and the Flyers need him. They've been leaning heavily on Travis Sandheim in his absence. They need Cam York back. He's a clear-cut top four defenseman. And generally speaking, has been used on the top pair for the Flyers with Sanheim. We'll see if they throw them right back into that big minutes roll to start or if they ease them in.

But in any case, the Flyers could certainly use their Cam York back in the lineup as soon as possible. Now, if York does return to the lineup, the Flyers are going to need someone to take a seat to make way for him. And there are a few options. One player who doesn't seem

like is a realistic option to come out of the lineup, Adam Yining. He got 20 minutes and 33 seconds

of ice time on Monday night against the Panthers. Look pretty solid in the process. And it seems

like Rick Tocke's very happy, very satisfied with what Yining has provided. Yeah, I think he's trying to be consistent. I thought he's defended pretty well for us. You know, he's been in the right spots. You know, there's things he's got to get better at and be a little more aggressive and harder with plays. But for the most part, you know, we're putting him in a, put him in the fire, right? And he's accepted a challenge for March coach and stuff. We need him.

We're, you know, we're thin back there. Yorkies out. Ristow's out. So it gets a little thin, and I think he's done a nice job of coming up. I didn't even know he was, to be honest with until you know now he's made the team for now and he's you know we're playing him 20 minutes so good for him

Now, to my eyes, Andre had a very strong season debut. Didn't play a ton of minutes, only a little over 10 minutes, but he made plays with the puck, was aggressive, was assertive. He impressed me. The problem? Well, it's unclear whether the Flyers really are willing to go with a blue line that has all of

Cam York, who's basically just six foot, Jamie dries, it was under six foot, and then Emil Andre,

who's generously five foot nine, five foot ten. Are they going to want to go with that small

blue line? It was theorized that was one of the reasons why Andre didn't make the team out of camp in
