Welcome to our Rosary meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

We've been meditating on happiness and the three levels of good, so just as a quick reminder before we enter into our

meditation for today, there are three levels of good that we should pursue.

First, the lowest level, the extrinsic or external

created goods. Things that are concrete like food, drink, houses cars, and books, and abstract conceptual things like money, time, and power.

But these are just means to hire goods, not ends in themselves.

They should just help us pursue the second level, the intrinsic or human goods like physical

health, family and friends, knowledge, achievement, beauty.

Yet even these human or intrinsic goods are just intermediate ends.

No one of these are not all of them together

can make us perfectly happy and they're not the purpose of life.

Even these are only meant to help us reach union with divine good, union with God.

So we need all of these, but we need to keep them in order.

Love the lesser things less and love the greater things more. Virtue is

rightly ordered love. And this leads us to our first meditation and our first and decade.

Moral goodness respects the order of the hierarchy of goods.
