Welcome to the Gone to the Dogs podcast. Steve Fielder here with you.

Mighty glad to be able to talk to you again today after a couple little storms we had to come up to go, came up to Gulf of Mexico and kind of disrupted things a little bit there. And, but we're safe and sound here about, oh, 40 miles north of

Tampa Bay where it was in the news a lot with this last storm, old Milton.

He tried to come in the bay, but he missed his mark a little bit and slid to the south down towards Sarasota.

So we came out of it in really good shape, but it's been kind of hectic around here,

trying to get things squared away and just had a lot of debris in the lawn from trees and so forth and all this and that.

And when you're my age and retired, you can make an excuse for about anything, you know.

So I haven't been doing too much or haven't been getting too much done.

Let's put it that way.

But at the time of year, we're looking at now fall hunting season, man, the time a coon hunter for sure looks forward to October.

And I just, at this time of year, I kind of get a little nostalgic.

I like to get with my buddies and talk about old times and talk about the, you know, how the dogs are doing and all those kind of things.

And this podcast has given me a real good vehicle to do that.

So I got to thinking about my buddy up there in South Carolina and haven't talked to him

for a little bit.

And so I thought I'd give a call to Jim Meeks, the Wild Man.
