Joseph D'Angela has spent the better part of the 70s as a police officer tasked with

protecting communities mostly in the Sacramento area of California.

At the same time, he was terrorizing most same neighborhoods, potentially first as a serial

burglar who he was charged with stopping, then as the East Area rapist who assaulted and

killed so many in the same area he grew up in.

And in the end, we knew him by one name, the Golden State Killer.

When he killed for the last time in 1986, police still didn't know who they were chasing,

but they had crimes in stretching across the state of California, all connected by the

chilling ways they played out.

D'Angela was arrested in 2018, and we now have a full picture of all the disturbing details

of his crimes.
