Yeah, we couldn't stay away for a long.

Especially during spooky season.

And especially after a listener contacted us with some stories so creepy that we had to share them with you.

Just in time for Halloween.

The stories are so good in fact that we're going to be telling them to you in multiple parts.

So for part one, Sandra is a California girl, but this is a story about sun and surf and movie stars.

This is a story about a wilder California. One much further north

where even summer days are shrouded in fog and mystery and ghosts that come with a warning.

Sandra So my very first ghost siding occurred at age 21 I was still in college. My friend Jim

invited me to come to his store that he was working at in Urika, California.

He told me he was going to be alone at the store and his boss wasn't going to be there and there

would be no co-workers, so I should definitely swing by. And he said there was hardly ever any

customers. So I drove by on my bike and I parked it and I entered the store and as I'm entering

the store the door I'm going in had a very loud beep.

No, a very obnoxious beep noise.

And I saw Jim, my friend, coming down the center aisle toward me to greet me with a big smile on his face.

I saw another guy that didn't recognize coming sort of on the side.

Still, he's still inside the store and he's also coming to greet me. And that was strange because Jim had told me that he was

gonna be alone in the store which is what I was expecting. Jim actually ends up
