Something has been really bugging me this week.

You know how much I love living in Paris?

Yeah.

You do complain about it quite a lot, don't you?

I do.

But one thing I complain about specifically is that I hate the Netflix show,

Emily in Paris, with a visceral passion.

And I've started noticing more and more young tourists dressing like Emily and Paris. It's kind of like a weird Parisian cosplay.

Like they've got these stupid little berets, which they wear at a jaunty angle. And it's driving me

crazy, Dominic. You're becoming an old person officially.

I think so. This podcast used to be a podcast for young people, but it isn't anymore. Anyway,

this is the Europeans. It's the podcast that tries to demystify this continent's very confusing

Not much is happening here. It's just really cold and I'm trying not to put the heating on.

But, you know, everyone's going through the same thing right now.

French politicians this week have been trying to get the nation to wear

roll-neck jumpers, which is something that French intellectuals do a lot anyway. So I guess that's

going to be an extra big trend this winter. It does make a big difference. It's actually quite

a good idea. I should do that too. But also, I saw a chart this week showing that energy prices

in France are like considerably below the rest of Western Europe at the
