It's another episode of Today in Wrestling History.

And on March 5th, 2017, the WWE in Milwaukee, Wisconsin held Fastlane.

A pay-per-view. That's right. We call them pay-per-views then. Oh, it feels way back when.

But the main event was Kevin Owens defending his Universal Championship against Bill Goldberg.

And spoiler alert, Goldberg won in 22 seconds.

Now, in 2016, let's flash back for a minute,

Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho had a friendship that blossomed through hatred for others,

creating the list, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

People still talk about WWE in 2016 when they had a draft and they really dedicated each other

to Raw being one brand and Smackdown being another. Kevin Owens and Jericho were a highlight on Monday Night Raw.

But we hit the Fast lane and guess what,

Rustamating is around the corner.

And everyone was hoping that Kevin Owens would defend his universal championship against

Chris Jericho on the paper view because of the storyline that's been building for about

what, eight months now.

So you think, well, a storyline that when eight months should end in a main event match at

WrestleMania for the Universal Championship.
