Global financial markets finished the first trading week of the new year.

Pretty much the way they ended the last trading week of the old year with the new trends

that I've been talking about clearly in motion.

And that is the rotation from growth to value, from domestic to international, from developed

to emerging markets and into precious metals mining stocks.

Taking a look at the major markets, everything finished the week on a strong note.

The Dow Jones industrial is closing up 2.1% on the day.

That was a 700 point move, the gain on the week though just 1.5%.

So all those gains and then some happening on Friday, S&P 500, a bit stronger on the day

of 2.3% and even stronger on the week, moving up 3.5%.

And that was the biggest gainer of the major averages.

The Russell 2000 almost up as much on Friday up to an quarter percent, but just 1.8% on

the week.
