so Chris Dawson welcome to the show thank you for people who may not have heard of you your book

can you kind of talk about your

background in Ireland and what led you on this kind of world journey?

Yeah, I was brought up in Belfast in the 70s.

I was, we went to secondary school in the middle of town and middle of the city.

And I really didn't know anything else but what was going on in Belfast in the 60s and 70s.

It was quite an unusual now looking back, I can see it was quite an unusual place to live in the middle of a, basically a war zone.

I was quite horrified when I took my daughter to the museum recently, actually, to notice

that my life was in the history of Belfast was in the museum already.

I wasn't expecting that in my lifetime.

But it was a peculiar place with bombs going off and the troubles, as they were, through the 70s and 80s. And there was a peculiar place with bombs going off and the troubles as they were through the 70s and 80s.

And there was a big, I suppose a big feeling in the kids when we were leaving school to get out of town,
