So tonight we are going to take and tackle Na'am chapter 2.

By the way, before I forget, next week, next Thursday,

we will not be in Naim chapter 3.

I will not be here because it's my daughter's 18th birthday.

Yeah.

right? Yeah. So she's turning 18 going on 25 and so we just are going to celebrate

it together and Pastor Mack has graciously agreed to fill in for me next Thursday.

However, the following Thursday, which I believe will be the 27th, we will complete this short three-chapter book of NAM. But tonight we are, I know I see this every week,

but it is a very interesting chapter because here in chapter two, we're going to see how it is that God as only he can and is always faithful to

will meet out his vengeance upon his enemy while at the same time also restoring his people. Only God could do that.

Now as we talked about last week in chapter one, NAM can be divided into three parts with the three chapters.

So chapter one is who this prophecy is to, Nineveh.

Chapter two, 2 tonight is what the prophecy is that's going to happen to

Nineveh. And then Lord willing, in a couple of weeks, chapter 3 will be why this is going to happen to Nineveh. So the who is Nineveh,

the what is God bringing the Babylonians who by the way at this time were not a ruling empire.

The Assyrian Empire was the ruling empire. And this after the Assyrian Empire

conquered the ruling empire of the world

at that time, Egypt.
