Welcome back. We just looked at the idea that God withholds no good thing from his children,

and that's according to Psalm 8411. And we asked, what does it mean? Because, you know,

we don't have every good thing that we possibly could have. That was APJ 2141. We looked at that.

So we have to deal with the blanket promises of scripture and just the

blunt reality of our lives. And so today we look at another wonderful blanket promise in the

Psalms that God heals all of our diseases. Obviously, Christians struggle with diseases all

around the world every single day. So we need to think about this because

Psalm 103 is in our Navigator's Bible reading plan, reading tomorrow. And because this is a

question on the mind of Ian today. Ian lives in Australia and he wrote us this. Pastor John,

hello, how would you preach from Psalm 103 verse 3, which says God heals all your diseases?

Do we just spiritualize this? He heals us from the disease of sin, or do we take it in the ultimate sense that one day we will be healed in heaven? As you know, there are many Christians today who die of awful diseases. I just don't know how to apply the promise to the Christian life today. Do you have any advice for me? Yeah, this is an absolutely crucial question because

verse 3 of Psalm 103, He forgives all your nicotine, he heals all your diseases, is one of

dozens of places in the Psalms that seem to promise things that are so

idealistic, so far beyond anybody's ordinary experience. And so we really do need an answer to this

question of not only how to teach them, but how to believe them,

how to enjoy them. What comforts me and has helped me perhaps as much as anything in wrestling

with the absolute statements of blessing in Psalms is that Jesus knew this problem and the devil

knew it, and the way they interacted about it is

very illuminating. So the devil knows Psalm 91. It's one of those Psalms like the arrow will not come

near you. It's just amazing Psalm. Psalm 91, you're going to be protected. Nothing is going to harm you.

So the devil quotes this to Jesus,

standing on the top of the temple. And he says, if you're the son of God, throw yourself down from here,
