0:00.0	God is sovereign. I take a no-risk view of history. That is to say that the future, in all of its
0:07.5	details, macrocosmically and microcosmically, are all part and parcel of a divine plan, the execution

1:02.9	maybe he is sovereign over the person you would marry, but not what you had for breakfast. So is
1:08.4	God sovereign over some things? Most things are all things. Hi, I'm Nathan W. Bingham,
1:15.2	and thank you for joining us today for renewing your mind. It is so important for us to understand
1:21.4	the sovereignty of God rightly, especially before we face challenges and trials in our life.
1:27.8	And today, as Derek Thomas continues his series, Imprisoned,

1:34.4	he is going to consider one of the most fascinating historical accounts recorded for us in the Old Testament,
1:40.9	one that not only helps us understand the scope of God's sovereignty, but also the
1:45.8	comfort that it should bring us today.

1:52.2	In our study of characters in the Bible who found themselves imprisoned for a season, we've been looking at the lessons that they learned
2:04.2	themselves and perhaps the lessons that you and I can learn from similar trials and difficulties
2:12.6	that are not literal imprisonments, but certainly when things aren't quite going our way.
