TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

Romans 9:19–24 [19] You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?” [20] But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” [21] Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? [22] What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, [23] in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory—[24] even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles? (ESV)

0:09.5	or reading a book where something happened in the plot of the story that made you angry at the
0:16.7	author of the story? I've experienced that where something happened to a character that I'd
0:21.7	really become attached to that I wasn't happy about. I think we've all had that experience
0:27.3	to one degree or another. And today's Bible passage is so similar. And today's Bible passage
0:34.9	introduces a situation that often can feel the very same way as we think
0:41.0	about things that God has chosen to do in the story of redemption that he has planned and is

1:38.6	Lord God, we want to hear the story of your redemption of men, women, boys, and girls. And we want to understand it
1:46.5	as you do. So please reveal that to us today. We ask it in Jesus' name. Amen. Okay, in the previous
1:53.7	passage, the Apostle Paul has pointed out that God will have mercy on whom he has mercy, and he will harden those who he intends to harden.
2:05.1	And picking up here in verse 19, the Apostle Paul anticipates an objection.
2:09.7	He might get to that, and this is one you and I might feel very familiar with.
2:13.9	He says, you will say to me then, why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?
