Psalm 23 has been described as the pearl of the Psalms. It is a song that has filled the world with joy unspeakable.

It has healed broken hearts. It has healed more broken hearts than the poetry of a thousand Shakespeare.

This Psalm has given courage to the disappointed and a discouraged.

Psalm 23 lifted up many clouds of depression from the lives of millions.

But as you think of this Psalm, Psalm 23, I want you to think of the author who wrote it down. Of course, the Holy Spirit inspired him to write it.

But think about David when he says, the Lord is my shepherd. Therefore, I want nothing. Therefore,

I will lack for nothing. David is a man who have been a shepherd. He is a man who have been a

king, a man, a shepherd king, who have

experienced both the joys and the sorrows. He has experienced both the trials and the triumphs.

He has experienced both courage and fear. He has experienced both loneliness and he knew what fellowship is like. He has

experienced sinning and breaking the heart of God and he also experienced what is like to sob and

stain his pillow with the tears of repentance. He has experienced pain, but he also knew comfort. He had

his ups and he had his downs. This is the man who sits under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit,

puts his pen to paper, and he says, the Lord is my shepherd. Therefore, I shall not want.
