We live in the day of the 24-hour news cycle, and most of what we hear is bad news.

With the steady stream of evil reports, it is easy to forget that God has provided good news in a bad world,

and that good news is the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Today we join Scott Pauley as he opens God's Word to remind us of God's good news,

the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, and how that good news not only encourages us as believers, but is also the message this unbelieving

world desperately needs. Let's join Scott now.

Life in so many ways is about priorities. What really matters, what matters a little bit, and what doesn't matter at all.

And frankly, the longer you live, the more God clarifies some of that, doesn't it?

And you start realizing that you've got to get your priorities properly placed.

I don't know of anything that brings greater clarity to life than the gospel.

And I'm going to tell you why, because the gospel message is God's priority.

It's the number one thing.

It's top of the list.

It's what clarifies everything else.

That has been one of the great revelations for me as a Christian, as a servant of

the Lord, that my life must be consumed and conquered and controlled by the gospel. I must connect my

life to what really matters to God. In other words, God's priority must become mine.

Now, we've been studying this classic passage of the gospel in 1st Corinthians chapter number

15. Could I point something interesting out to you that he's writing to the church at Corinth?

Did Corinth have any problems? That's a laughable question. If you know

anything about them, they were carnal people living in an ungodly city. It was a mess. In fact, read
