When you get subpoenaed to testify in the court of law as a witness, you are not expected to present a legal argument.

You are not expected to expound on some finer points of the law.

You're not even expected to know anything about the theory of jurisprudence.

When you are subpoenaed to the court as a witness, you are only required to do three things. You're required to say what you saw,

what you've heard, what you have experienced. That's all is required of you as a witness.

A witness may or might not know the law. A witness may or might not know the law.

A witness may or might not know the circumstances that are surrounding the case.

A witness may or might not know all of the evidence that are involved.

As a matter of fact, a witness doesn't even have to be an eloquent person.

He doesn't have to be, which he doesn't have to be, a person that is able to articulate his or her thoughts.

He's only required by the courts to say what he saw, what he heard, and what he experienced.

That is the task of a witness, no more, no less.

Often a witness and his testimony can be a, in fact, can make a difference between life and death.

A testimony of a witness can put somebody into life of imprisonment or set him free. A testimony of a witness can spare or kill.

On the other hand, refusing to testify can cause the court to hold you in contempt.

Refusing to witness can cause a ruin to some lives.

Refusing to testify can cause even grief to the witness himself.
