For many years, I taught Junior High Sunday School at our church. It was a small church plant

but was already pushing the limitations of the space we had. Our growing class of hormone-infused

teenagers was forced to meet in the church kitchen. We called ourselves the kitchen crew.

Every Sunday was a struggle to keep their attention. Not a Sunday went by where I felt

any degree of confidence that they had heard a word that I had shared. Ten years slipped by

in a flash and I met one of the kids at a wedding. We had fun catching up and he told me about a story

that I shared one Sunday that had always stayed with him. He must have seen the look of surprise

on my face, the disbelief. I had a tear in my eye. I told him I never knew if they heard a word I had

said. He smiled and said, maybe not every word, but what you shared accomplished its purpose.

And yes, I believe. Have you ever had doubts your message has heard?

Misgivings about an opportunity missed to share an important word?

Well, this meditation from Isaiah chapter 55 is a contemplation on redeeming fears of missed moments.

Living with the assurance that the moments of God will accomplish what He intends.

His words will prosper. So to begin your meditation,

find a place to be reflective of moments with your sovereign creator, a sanctuary to become

mindful of His presence and purpose. A spot to be at peace. Allow your eyes to close without

effort and become aware of your purpose-filled breathing and begin to move deeper into the perfect

presence and timing of the Holy Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit.
