Summary

Today we’re going to look at how incredible patient God is with us, as we begin our second day in a week long focus on the story of the prodigal son.

So often we judge ourselves, we can be our own worst critic. But today, if we’ll open our hearts and minds to listen and receive, we’ll find a patient God whose never surprised by our mistakes, and who never casts us out in the midst of our failures and shortcomings.

May the patience and love of God transform your heart today, as we spend time in his presence, engaging with his word.

1:00.0	Scripture says,
1:09.3	But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
1:16.4	Our Heavenly Father is abundantly patient with us.
1:21.8	So vast is His love that our hearts can always be filled with his affection.
1:29.0	So perfect is his leadership and wisdom that he makes available to us a perfect and pleasing life through every season. And yet, he is patient to guide us into the fullness of life
1:35.9	afforded to us by Christ's sacrifice. He waits, sweetly beckoning us to simply trust him
1:43.0	and cultivate a heart of constant communion with him.
1:47.0	In Luke 15, Jesus tells us of a prodigal son who foolishly and pridefully leaves perfect communion with his father to chase after worldly satisfaction.
1:59.0	The Father lovingly obliges his son, offers him his inheritance as if he
2:05.7	himself were dead, and watches as his son leaves a life in his father's care to lead a lifestyle of
2:13.4	destruction. And the father waits, patiently hoping for the return of his child.
2:20.3	I find myself daily leaving the perfection of communion with my Heavenly Father to seek after the things of the world.
2:29.3	I seek after success and admiration from the lost and broken, rather than simply receiving the
2:35.7	unconditional acceptance of my father. I abandon perfect peace for the striving and stress of worldly
2:43.4	gain. I reject the loving and perfect thoughts of my father for the fleeting and unfounded
2:50.6	affection of others.
2:52.6	I am the prodigal son.
2:55.6	We all are, and yet our Heavenly Father has a patient heart toward us.
