First Corinthians 11, we kind of, we sort of wound down with this concept that I want to pick up from here.

First Corinthians chapter 11, I think we're going to have about five or six sessions.

First Corinthians chapter 11, this is very interesting because we basically have three main portions

of scripture in the New Testament and the New Covenant where we get most of our restrictions from.

And what's interesting about it is there is nothing that I can find written in the old covenant that restricts women.

Now, the priesthood pass from sons.

So we know that the priesthood itself pass from men to men, if you will.

But there's nothing in the Torah.

There's nothing in the old covenant that actually prevent a woman from teaching,

from exercising authority or from leading.

As a matter of fact, and I'm kind of skipping ahead, but as a matter of fact,

in Exodus chapter 15 verse 20, Miriam is called a prophetess.

In Judges chapter 4 verse 4, Debra is called a prophetess.

In 2nd Kings 22, 14, I can't pronounce her name, it's H-U-L-D-A-H is called a prophetess.

And there's six named, actually named, prophetesses in the old covenant.

And so although they weren't priests, we don't know of any priests that I know of at least that were

that, in other words, when we weren't part of priesthood, they definitely had authority
