verses here in Job. And this is one of those parts of Job where Job's supposed friends are

speaking to him, and so many of the things they say are unhelpful.

But sometimes the things they are saying are true, and this is one of those examples.

We see this all over the Bible, how God disciplines those whom he loves.

Just like a father or a mother disciplines his or her children in love for them.

Now, obviously, there's a way that that discipline can be unloving or unhelpful, but never with God.

God is the perfect father, and He loves us enough to discipline us, to reprove us,

to help us see the consequences of sin that we might turn from sin and live in righteousness,

in the life that He's created us to live in.

So it's a blessing to be reproved by a perfectly loving God who wants our good.
