Do you ever find yourself in wonder? Does God really love me? Is it too good to be true? How can he love me?

Knowing all of my flaws, hearing every thought, seeing every selfish decision that I make, could God really love me?

To answer that question, the Apostle Paul wrote to us in Romans 5 in verse 8, and he told us this

about God. He said, but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Jesus died for us. He willingly gave up his body, his connection with God, his comfort.

He gave up all of that before we had ever done anything for him.

Would you close your eyes and picture this scene along with me?

Maybe you have seen a scene similar to this in a movie, or maybe you've experienced it yourself as a parent.

But picture that moment that a parent first lays eyes on their child.

Typically a baby will be born, and then they'll hand that baby straight to the mom.

And this mom has carried this baby for nine months and felt it kick and been uncomfortable

because of it. Yet the moment that mother sees a child, the look in her eyes is one of

overwhelming love. It is one of overwhelming love.

It is sheer joy.

It's a love unlike any parent has ever experienced before.

That child has done nothing for those parents.

They've just caused discomfort and racked up hospital bills.

Yet that parent loves that child unconditionally.

Now try to imagine that type of love times a thousand.

That is the kind of love that our heavenly father

feels towards us.

With that in mind, I want you to repeat these phrases after me
