Summary

As we wrap up our week on God’s heart to meet with man, today we’ll look at the encouraging story of John on the island of Patmos. Right when we think we’re unusable, a season is too dry or we’re past our prime, God comes and speaks fresh life and vision. If you find yourself like John on Patmos today, I pray God brings a new word of courage and life to you despite your season.

0:46.5	eyes. I imagine an isolated weary and lonely John on Patmos, standing his
0:53.3	days waiting until he gets to be with his beloved Jesus again. I imagine his
0:58.8	heart yearning just to see his friend and savior. And suddenly, after years of
1:04.4	serving Jesus, he appears to John once again. His Lord and King standing before
1:10.3	him, speaking to him, that which will be the final words of Scripture. In
1:14.8	Revelation 119-20, John records Jesus coming to meet him, saying,
1:21.1	Then I turn to see the voice that was speaking to me. And on turning, I saw seven
1:26.6	golden lampstands. And in the midst of the lampstands, one like a son of man
1:31.4	clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. The hairs of
1:37.3	his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame. His
1:43.4	feet were like burnished bronze, refined and a furnace. And his voice was like
1:48.9	the roar of many waters. In his right hand, he held seven stars. From his mouth
1:55.3	came a sharp, two-edged sword. And his face was like the sun shining in full
2:01.6	strength. When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his
