We're going to be talking this morning about God's guidance, a slow and certain light.

And if we're earnest and honest about wanting to do what God wants us to do and to go where God wants us to go,

then we can be assured that he will indeed show us the way.

There are probably... indeed show us the way.

There are probably hundreds of passages in scripture we could talk, turn to, which prove the always sufficient guidance of God.

Psalm 91 is familiar, I'm sure, to all of you

and one of my favorites.

He who dwells in the shelter the most high will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord he is my refuge and my fortress, my

God in whom I trust.

Then skipping down to verse 15,

he will call upon me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver

him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.

And I love Psalm 56, the two verses in here which are among my favorite ones to which I return again and again.

When I am afraid, I will trust. That's Psalm 56.

And here you've got two different faculties, every one of us is born

with a will and emotions.

And the great thing as we mature is to learn to act according to our will rather than our emotions.

The will is, as it were, the captain. The emotions are just the

enlisted men. But I love the Psalms saying, when I am afraid, so he is simply acknowledging

straightforwardly that he does have plenty of opportunities to be afraid, and that's fear. That is emotion but he says when I am afraid using this emotion here

then I will trust this is where the will takes over and as women we may be a little bit
