0:26.4	born he chooses Jacob not Esau to carry on Abraham's legacy. God doesn't just choose people, he also chooses the nations.
0:35.4	When God rescues Israel from their slavery in Egypt, he chooses them above every other nation.
0:40.8	Here's Deuteronomy 7. God says, for you are a holy people to the Lord your God.
0:46.0	The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people,
0:51.0	his treasured possession.
0:53.0	Maybe you're wondering why if God created every human and every nation,
0:57.1	then why does Israel get so much love and affection?
1:00.8	What about all the other nations?
1:02.4	I think it's safe to say that if God were a modern day parent,
1:05.0	he would be criticized for all the overt favoritism he displays in the Old Testament.
1:10.0	But he gets even weirder than that.
1:12.0	Because God doesn't just have a favorite people and a favorite nation.
1:14.8	God even has a favorite city.
1:16.5	It's called Zion.
1:18.1	We hear about this city in Psalm 87.
1:20.9	Here's verses 1 and 2. He has founded his city on the Holy Mountain. The Lord loves
1:26.3	the gates of Zion more than all the other dwellings of Jacob. I have lived in Missouri
