My name is Kerry Green.

I am a Bible teacher and pastor, and we are in the middle of a series called God's

story.

We're actually in Chapter 17 today, we're going to talk about God's promised deliverance for

his people in Exodus chapter 3, verses 9 through 14. So take out your Bibles. We are going to get into

Exodus chapter 3 in just a moment. But before we do, I want to invite you to pray with me because we

really need God to be our teacher as we look at His Word. So our Father, we ask you today to give us your insight. Lord, give me insight into the passage so that as I teach it, I can do so with your thoughts, with your heart, with your intention and purpose for the people who you know will be listening to this audio.

Father, it's for your name's sake and your glory, we do all of this in Jesus' name, amen.

All right, friends, Exodus 3, 9 through 14.

Now, if you remember from yesterday's episode, God's people, Israel, the nation of Israel, wound up in a place called Egypt, and they wound up there because of a famine.

Joseph, the son of Jacob, who is also named Israel, is the one who rescued them because he was an official in the land of Egypt by this time.

Well, the entire nation of people, just a small tribe at the time, goes to Egypt and thrives there.

They are numerous. They multiply.

And the leaders of Egypt become intimidated by them just because of their sheer numbers.

And God himself intervenes. And he calls a man named Moses, one of the people of Israel,

who had been raised in the pharaoh, the king of Egypt's household, and then

escaped after an incident where he murdered a man. God comes to Moses and he calls him. And here's what

he says to Moses. Now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me and I've also seen

the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them come. I will send

you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. But Moses said to God,

Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt? He said,
