Summary

"My vengeance... ends now!" For the first show proper Leon, Tony and Jay are joined by Darren Forman to discuss Sony Santa Monica's God of War III. We also turn our thoughts to other games in the God of War franchise and discuss Kratos' future. As well as this we then investigate the respective design decisions made within the so-called 'hack and slash' genre by Western and Eastern developers: Are they really so different or is that a commonly perpetuated myth? http://media.blubrry.com/caneandrinse/caneandrinse.com/podcast/cane_and_rinse_issue_one.mp3   Cane and Rinse 1 was edited by Jay Taylor Do you have an opinion about this particular game or maybe about our podcast in general? Then why not venture into our forum and leave us your feedback. Whilst there you could also interact with our ever-growing and friendly community, in discussing past, present and future videogames (and lots of other stuff too!) and perhaps even arrange some games with like-minded individuals. Sound good? Come and say hello at The Cane and Rinse forum In this Quick Rinse, Josh takes on The Gods of Olympus themselves:

1:22.5

So let's start at the very beginning.

1:25.5

First thing I noticed, gents, about this game that I think is unusual,

1:29.5

particularly in this day and age, is that it kicks off with an extended, a four-minute-long,

1:33.6

filmic opening credits sequence on loading the game. This is unusual. Normally, the credits these

days are kind of, you know, they're just there on a top menu, and you click on them, and they

just scroll up the screen.
