Hello, thank you for joining me for Give Him 15.

The title of today's post is, God never lies and he never loses.

Nehemiah, chapter 6, I've given you the entire chapter here, although I'm not going to read all of it.

I'll read portions of it, but I encourage you to read it all.

When Sandballot,

Tobiah and Gashim, the Arab, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had rebuilt the wall and that there were no more breaks in it, even though I hadn't yet installed the gates, Sanballot and Gasham

sent this message. Come and meet with us. I knew they

were scheming to hurt me, so I sent messengers back with this. I'm doing a great work. I can't

come down. Why should the work come to a standstill just so I can come down to see you. This, of course, is Nehemiah speaking.

He said a few verses down, the word is out among the nations. This is his enemy speaking. The

word is out among the nations. You and the Jews are planning to rebel. That's why you're building

the wall. We're going to tell the king,

they said. I sent back word to him, Nehemiah said, there's nothing to what you are saying.

You've made it all up. They were trying to intimidate us into quitting, he said. They thought

they'll give up. They'll never finish it. I prayed,

Nehemiah said. God give me strength. Then I met secretly with a fellow named Shemaiah.

After he met with him, Nehemiah said, I sensed that God hadn't sent this man.

The so-called prophecy he spoke to me was the work of Tobayan Sandballot.

They had hired him.

He had been hired to scare me off, trick me, a layman into desecrating the temple

and ruining my good reputation so they could accuse me.

Then he prayed, oh my God, don't let Tobiah and Sandballot get by with all the mischief they've done.
