Tonight shall we turn now to Obadiah.

Who Obadiah was or where he came from,

when he prophesied, nobody knows for sure. There have been a lot of guesses as to who Obadiah actually was, but they are all just

guesses. It's amazing how much men can say whenever the Bible is silent on a subject.

And it seems to just be a take-off place for guys to develop theories and to write

theme papers or doctoral dissertations on some area where the Bible is silent.

But at best, when God's word is silent, all we can do is offer conjecture and at best our conjecture is worthless.

So I prefer not to make any conjecture.

The Bible is silent, will remain silent. All I can tell you is that the name
