There's nothing wrong with asking God for blessings.

God is a good God who loves to bless me.

And when he does, you should thank him for those blessings

and then use those blessings for his kingdom.

It's when you depend on those blessings,

when you demand them in order to feel significant and secure,

that's when you have become like the Israelites in this chapter.
